Have your say on proposed safety improvements on Bong Bong Street at Bowral

Consultation has concluded

Transport for NSW is seeking community feedback on proposed safety improvements in your area

Safety improvements are being proposed to make Bowral a safer place for all Transport customers.

We are seeking feedback on proposed treatments along Bong Bong Street and surrounding local roads.

These include upgrading the existing pedestrian crossing to a raised crossing and reducing the speed limit to 30km/h. Upgrading the crossing will help reduce vehicle speeds in the area and create a safer environment for pedestrians.

A ‘’shared zone’’ with a speed limit of 10km/h is proposed on Lamond Lane.

Based on traffic and pedestrian studies carried out in the area, existing vehicle speeds were significantly below the current 50 km/h. A reduced speed limit through Bong Bong Street and Lamond Lane would still allow vehicles to operate close to existing conditions while improving safety for pedestrians and road users.

Additional kerb blisters and signage are proposed at each speed zone transition to clearly highlight the change in road environment.

Please refer to the map on the next page for a detailed view of the proposed improvements.

These safety improvements will support Wingecarribee Shire Council’s vision for Bowral.
