Mascot Station Access Upgrade Project

What are we doing at Mascot Station?

Planning is underway to improve access and enhance pedestrian flow in and around Mascot Station. Transport for NSW is proposing to create a new station entrance on the western side of Bourke Street.

Key features of the works include:

  • new integrated entrance/exit into Mascot Station which provides a place for community interaction
  • escalators and a lift to the lower/paid concourse
  • additional ticket gates
  • new toilets in the paid concourse of the station.

Project update - have your say

Transport for NSW has finalised a Review of Environmental Factors (REF), which was on public display from Friday 23 October to Friday 6 November. The REF is a planning document outlining the proposed work, potential impacts and mitigation measures. The document includes comprehensive assessments on the existing environment and expected impacts of the project including traffic and transport, visual impact, and noise and vibration.

Your feedback is important to us. We are keen to hear your views on the design and how we can minimise the impact during construction. We provided the opportunity for you to provide feedback online, by email or by post.

The opportunity to provide feedback closed at 5.00pm, Friday 6 November 2020.

Next steps

Once the public display period closes, all feedback received in response to the Review of Environmental Factors (REF) will be considered and addressed in a Determination Report, which will be made available to the public as soon as possible. Major construction will only start once all approvals have been finalised and a determination on the project has been made by Transport for NSW.

The Review of Environmental Factors (REF) is on public display and community feedback is invited from Friday 23 October to Friday 6 November, 2020. Feedback received during the public display will assist Transport for NSW to understand what is important to the community. It will also assist in preparing plans for managing impacts during construction.

Results of the planning process will be published in a Determination Report in the coming months. This report will allow you to see how your feedback has been considered in the planning process.
