Transport for NSW has been extending the platform canopy at Arncliffe Station. The extended canopy provides increased weather protection, encouraging customers to use the length of the platform and reducing crowding at busy times.
The canopy work is now complete and we will complete finishing works on the station platform this month.
The work also included:
extending the canopy to cover almost the entire length of Platform 3 and 4
installing additional CCTV and lighting for improved safety and security
providing more customer seating along the platform
providing additional digital information boards and PA system to keep customers informed about departing train services in real time.
What’s planned next?
In May the site compound will be reopened in preparation for the resurfacing asphalt work to be completed at the southern end of the platform.
This work will take place from 6am Saturday 21 May through to 10pm Sunday 22 May during a scheduled Sydney Trains trackwork period when no trains will be running.
Scheduling construction work outside of standard construction hours enables our project team to complete essential activities safely.
Tools and equipment to be used include mobile work platforms, hand tools, asphalt machinery.
All work is dependent on weather and site conditions and is subject to change.
Thank you for your understanding and patience while we complete this important work.
Will the commuter car park be affected?
The commuter carpark will be closed from 5 pm Friday 20 May until 12 am Monday 23 May to allow for plant and equipment to access the work site. Signage will be in place for pedestrians to access the station concourse.
Keep in touch
We will continue to keep the community informed throughout construction with regular notifications being distributed to the community and frequent updates published here on the website.
Please contact projects@transport.nsw.gov.au if you would like to subscribe to the email distribution list for this project.
