Artist impression of the proposed Mascot substation at 166 O'Riordan Street, Mascot.

What are we doing at Mascot?

Transport for NSW is upgrading the power supply to support an increase to the number of services operating through the T8 Airport Line tunnel and support the introduction of the new fleet of trains operating along the T8 Airport Rail Line.

Upgrades include:

  • Construction of a new substation at 166 O’Riordan Street, Mascot
  • Cabling route from the new substation to Mascot Station, which will be created using an underground tunnel boring machine
  • New lighting and CCTV and security fencing around the substation and the mobile antenna located behind the new substation.

Transport for NSW and our project teams are committed to making every effort to manage and minimise the impact of our work including adhering to strict environmental conditions. We thank you for your patience while we carry out this important work.
