Woodstock Ave indented bus bay

The bus stop (ID 2770106) located on Woodstock Avenue, Mt Druitt, just before Carew Street becomes muddy and hard to access in wet weather making it difficult for passengers when they get on or off the bus.

Transport would like to install a bus bay to allow vehicles to safely pass the bus when it is stopped. The bus bay will help manage traffic flow as buses can pull into a designated area to the side of the road allowing other vehicles to pass as the buses set down or pick up passengers.

The bus bay will include a concrete waiting area, as well as improvements to the footpath, lighting and landscaping in the area for the safety and convenience of passengers.

Proposed improvements (see artist's impression above)

  • build a bus bay on Woodstock Avenue just before Carew Street where the current bus stop is located
  • build a concrete base for the bus stop
  • create a footpath leading to the bus stop
  • improve lighting and landscaping.

Benefits

The bus bay and associated work will:

  • improve traffic flow along Woodstock Avenue
  • improve the accessibility of the bus stop
  • improve the safety and efficiency of bus services.
