Project overview
The NSW Government is upgrading Fifteenth Avenue to support the new Western Sydney International Airport and future growth in the area. With thousands of new homes expected and traffic already heavy, the road will be widened from two lanes to four to make travel easier and safer. Major construction is expected to start in 2027.
Fifteenth Avenue upgradeOnce complete the upgrade will:
- Reduce congestion and improve travel times
- Make it safer for all road users
- Improve paths for walking and bike riding
- Support a growing community.
The upgrade is a key part of the Transport for NSW 30-year strategic vision, Connecting the Western Sydney Airport Precinct. In the future, Fifteenth Avenue will become the Liverpool to Airport transit Corridor, part of the transport network connecting people to housing, jobs and economic opportunities in the new Bradfield City Centre and Western Sydney International Airport.
Future stages of the Liverpool to Airport Transit Corridor are not yet funded, but the work we are doing now is the first step in bringing this future vision to life.
