Coniston Station Infrastructure Upgrade

Transport for NSW acknowledges the Dharawal people as the traditional custodians of the Illawarra and pay our respect to Elders past and present.

What are we doing at Coniston Station?

As part of the More Trains, More Services program, we are completing work at Coniston Station to accommodate the new Intercity Fleet called Mariyung. These 10-car trains will provide an improved level of comfort and convenience for intercity customers.

For more information please visit our Mariyung Fleet page.

Improvements for customers include:

  • installing new CCTV cameras for improved safety and security
  • realigning and installing new signalling equipment so the new trains can operate safely and efficiently
  • minor architectural work on the platforms, including updated wayfinding signage, new car marker signs for the trains and installation of additional fencing.

Keeping you up to date

We are committed to integrating sustainable practices into our projects and reducing environmental impacts.

After May 2023, we will no longer be distributing hard copy notifications to residents on this project unless requested.

Instead, we will be providing construction updates by email.

If you would like to be emailed project updates please contact us on 1800 684 490 or email projects@transport.nsw.gov.au.

If our work is anticipated to directly impact your property and we do not have your contact details, we will distribute a paper notification to your address to ensure you are aware of upcoming activities.

Keeping our work sites safe

We are continuing to deliver projects across New South Wales while ensuring the safety of all staff and the community. All work will be carried out in line with current NSW Government Public Health Orders and Restrictions which are subject to change.
