Queanbeyan Region Integrated Transport Plan

Consultation has now concluded.

Transport for NSW is planning for the future by preparing an Integrated Transport Plan (ITP) to guide transport planning for the next 10 years. To do this, we need to investigate improvements to the transport network in and around the Queanbeyan area to create a more efficient transport system for the future that meets the needs of our customers.

The ITP will focus on key areas such as active travel – for example walking, running, and cycling – public transport, freight movements, road transport, parking and public spaces. It is designed to evaluate infrastructure and service planning from now and into the future, building on the Integrated Transport Strategy completed by Queanbeyan-Palerang Regional Council in 2020.

It will identify a range of actions that Transport, Council and other key stakeholders can then implement to make the Queanbeyan region a better place. It will map out how we can improve some of the current transport-related challenges in and around Queanbeyan.

Community benefits:

  • Supporting economic growth and future transport needs in and around Queanbeyan
  • Improving safety
  • Delivering a high performing, well integrated and efficient transport network
  • Improving accessibility to transport infrastructure and services for all user groups
  • Providing a more reliable journey and better-connected transport services within Queanbeyan and ACT.
