Sydney Terminal Area Reconfiguration Project
What are we doing at Sydney Terminal?
Upgrades to rail infrastructure between Sydney Terminal and Erskineville Junction are required to support the introduction of the new fleet of trains operating on the South Coast Line that will access platforms 1 to 14 at Central Station.
The upgrades include:
- reconfiguration of the railway tracks
- changes to overhead wiring and structures
- relocation of underground utilities, drainage and signals
- an extension of platforms 9 and 10.
What are we doing at Erskineville?
We are upgrading the rail infrastructure between Sydney Terminal and Erskineville Junction to simplify and modernise the rail network so that customers can expect more frequent train services in the future.
What are we doing in Eveleigh?
We are upgrading the drainage system within the rail corridor at Eveleigh to prevent future flooding and improve reliability across the network. We are upgrading the rail infrastructure
